To wean yourself off meat, poultry, fish & eggs

If you have been eating meat, poultry, fish and eggs all your life then weaning yourself off gradually makes sense. If you are interested in doing this cleanse, but you eat meat then at the beginning of the cleanse, exclude just red meat for the first ten days. Then move on to exclude poultry for the second ten days. Then fish. Then finally eggs. You don't want to transition off too quickly and you may even need more time. Take your time to eliminate each item. Only if you feel balanced, would you want to eliminate each item faster. It's also recommended to consult with your health practitioner when changing your diet.

If you are in the process of letting go of meat out of your diet during this cleanse then replace your missed protein with the vegetarian protein suggested for this cleanse such as tofu, tempeh, TVP, meat alternatives, beans and grain combination (quinoa is a hi-protein grain), chards, spinach, broccoli, beans/lentils including black chana, chana dal, moong dal (these are hi-protein lentils from India and can be purchased at your local Indian Grocer or on-line), nut butters, tahini sauce made from sesame seed butter, plain yogurt, cottage cheese, soft goat cheese, milk, goat & soy milk, nuts/seeds, whey protein, etc... check out the recipe page for some recipes

The suggestions within this Gentle Fall Cleanse are not medical advice. Consulting with your health practitioner is advisable before starting any food cleanse or diet modification. If you choose to participate in this cleanse, it is at your own risk.
